This is the quick photo of some of the team behind ‘Only Child’ which won the awards for Best Camera and Best Overall Short Film in April last. We were delighted to finally get their awards and prize (supplied by Whelan Cameras) to them.

This photo was taken on a random doorstep in Edinburgh at the end of a recce to the Highlands of Scotland. They hope to send another soon with Director Andy Toovey in South Wales when they catch up with him.

Congrats guys well done again.

This year sees Limerick bidding to become the European City of Culture 2020, and Limerick Film Festival is playing its part by helping to raise awareness of the bid’s message of ‘Multiplicity’.

For the buildup and during the festival itself the Limerick Film Festival will feature promotional videos and messages from the Limerick 2020 team to the film making communities both here in the city as well as nationally and internationally.

Call For Entries for 2016

Hi everyone,


Now into our 7th year here in Limerick and delighted to be up and running again bringing film makers together again in April 2016.

Below is the new link for your Entries and Rules of Submission for the 7th Limerick Film Festival Short film Competition.

Following feedback from last year we have decided to use FILM FREEWAY as partners for the entry process. Its simple to use and will streamline both the process and the festival into the future. The entry fee for this years competition $10.00 (General Entry). All films submitted will be accessed for the shortlisting as per normal with the short list announced towards the end of March.

Deadline for entry is March 4th 2016 and all entries must follow the rules of submission. (see the ‘Rules of submission’ for all details regarding the competition via the Film Freeway link below).

Best of luck and we will see you all in April 14th to 16th, 2016.

In 2013, Daragh set sail, aboard the Killary Flyer, to Greenland to create a new body of work entitled ‘Out of Thin Air’. Sponsored by Canon, SanDisk and the Killary Adventure Company this collection proved to be his most popular yet winning the FEP European Photobook of the Year award for 2015 in the Landscape category.
His prints are held in private collectios in Ireland, UK, France, Holland, Belgium, South Africa, Hong Kong, Dubai, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Daragh is currently sailing around Ireland shooting our coast from a unique underwater perspective with his EOS 5DSR. In 2016 he will return to the Arctic to shoot ice from beneath the waves.
