Event: Interactive Audio/Video Installations
Description:
This year, 4th year LIT students from both the Music Production and the Audio& Video Production programmes will give a public display of their interactive audio/video installations in the foyer of the Millennium Theatre. These installations form a significant part of their project-work for the Audio Video Signal Processing module, directed by Dr. Flaithri Neff, and will allow visitors to the Film Fest to interact with high-tech sonic-art pieces through the use of sensor gloves, Xbox Kinects, iPhones/iPads, webcams, modified keyboards and guitars, sensor pads, and more.

Event: Guest Speaker – Randal Plunket
Description:
Being a Producer director, the independent film makers journey.
In this session Randal Plunkett will describe his experiences in producing and directing films. The seminar will go through the stage of how to produce a film independently. This will include the strategy of organizing a project from the script stage right to completion. This will cover alternative ways for raisingmoney, hiring cast and crew and getting your film to international festivals. The seminar will also discuss possible marketing techniques to help get filmmaker’s films to a wider audience

Event: Guest Speaker – Nigel Mercier
Description: Casting and working with actors – get the advice of professional actor, and director of the Limerick School of Acting, Nigel Mercier.
- Where to find actors.
- How to hold an audition.
- How to cast the most suitable person for a role
- What to offer if no fee involved.
- How to treat and direct your actors on the day
Nigel will run through all these points and more, and answer any questions you want to put to him. Don’t miss this one if you’re serious about making movies.

Event: Workshop with Whelan Cameras.
Description: This Workshop will entail a brief introduction to Whelan Cameras and the services we offer, there will also be demonstrations of Canon products for video capabilities, focusing on the Canon 600D, 650D and Canon EOS M and several lenses. There will be a powerpoint presentation followed by a touch and try session where students will have the ability to try the cameras and various lenses that are available. A rep from Hahnel, Manfrotto and Liquid Image will also be demonstrating his products and how they can be used for the benefit of videography.
